Hey! Thanks for checking out the page! My name is Cassie, and I am the wearer of many hats. I am a wife, a mom to 3 beautiful girls, a surgical tech at River's Edge Veterinary Hospital, and a worship leader at Caledonia Community Church. 

 

I taught myself how to play guitar in 2012 and spent a few years playing on the wine trails of Southern Illinois as a hobby. In 2018, I gave my life to Christ and turned my musical interests toward serving in the church. I began leading worship for my church as well as various Christian retreats and events. 

 

I was asked to give lessons a few times, however, being unable to read music and having no background in music theory left me feeling very self-conscious about teaching. So my answer was always a polite "no". That was, until, I was asked to give beginner lessons at the Christian school my kids attend. I decided to give it a try and volunteer once a week.

I ended up giving lessons to 12 wonderful students and fell in love with the concept of teaching! To see the kids go from barely being able to play a note to playing chord progressions amazed me.

I may not be a pro when it comes to crazy scales and understanding music theory, but I feel like I have what it takes to get you or your child playing guitar and falling in love with the instrument I enjoy so much.

This course is designed with the absolute beginner in mind. The less you know about playing guitar, the more you will get from the lessons I have for you.

We will start from the ground up. First, understanding the instrument itself, then learning proper finger placement, tips and tricks for overcoming the discomfort of playing guitar, then we will learn how to form chords and put them all together to make music! The rest is up to you!
